Regular Season Round 31: Takamatsu FA - Hamamatsu P. 81-80

BJ League round 31 caused change at the leadership position. Eleventh defeat of league's leader Hamamatsu Phoenix (20-11) against seventh ranked Takamatsu FA (11-17) 81-80 was the most important game of the last round. 26 personal fouls committed by Hamamatsu Phoenix helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) contributed with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic, agency: Top Notch Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV, agency: Top Notch Sports) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hamamatsu Phoenix. Five Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Takamatsu FA maintains seventh place with 11-17 record. Hamamatsu Phoenix at the other side dropped to the second position with 11 games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Okinawa GK. Hamamatsu Phoenix will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings.
