Regular Season Round 31: Toyama Grouses - Akita NH 78-88

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Toyama Grouses (18-11) lost at home to fifth ranked Akita Happinets (16-11) 88-78 on Saturday. Toyama Grouses were trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 28-17 charge of Akita Happinets, which allowed them to win the game. Quite impressive performance for American forward Marshall Brown (199-85, college: Missouri) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 assists for the winners. Puerto Rican power forward Angel Garcia (209-88, college: Memphis) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Jeremy Jacob (203-87, college: Oregon) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Toyama Grouses. Four Akita Happinets and five Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets maintains fifth place with 16-11 record. Loser Toyama Grouses keep the fourth position with 11 games lost. Akita Happinets will have a break next round. Toyama Grouses will play again at home against Akita Happinets (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
