Regular Season Round 28: Queen's - Ottawa 53-67

Date: February 2, 2013
Rather expected game in Kingston where 4th ranked Queen's (6-12) were defeated by second ranked Ottawa (13-4) 67-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Ottawa. Queen's was better in third quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ottawa forced 19 Queen's turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ottawa made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Kellie Ring (178-93) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Catherine Traer who added 10 points and 5 blocks during the contest. Ottawa's coach Andy Sparks used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Liz Boag (160) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and forward Jenny Wright (178) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Ottawa have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-4 record behind leader Carleton. Queen's lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
