The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-50. Toyota Alvark dominated on the defensive end, holding Hokkaido L. to just 7 points in second quarter. American forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The other American import forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) contributed with 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Tomokazu Abe (180-85) replied with 12 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hokkaido L.Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 22-6 record behind leader Aishin SH. Hokkaido L. lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Toyota Alvark will face Tochigi Brex (#6) at home in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya.
