The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Varsity Reds' (4-11) road loss to sixth ranked Huskies (6-9) 72-86 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Huskies. Varsity Reds was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Huskies shot 25 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Varsity Reds only scored seven points from the stripe. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Huskies made 7 blocks. Forward Kevin Thomas (203-93, college: Fairfield) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Nigerian guard Harry Ezenibe (190-87) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Huskies players scored in double figures. Guard Daniel Quirion (183) responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and guard William Mc Fee (190) scored 23 points. Huskies have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 6-9 record. Varsity Reds lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
