Regular Season Round 31: Jilin NE T. - Foshan LL 119-122

A very close game took place in Changchun between Foshan and Jilin Tigers. Eleventh ranked Foshan (13-16) got a very close victory on the road over 15th ranked Jilin Tigers (10-20). Foshan managed to escape with a 3-point win 122-119 on Sunday evening. Jilin Tigers trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 40-25 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 119-122 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Jilin Tigers 54-38 including a 43-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Doron Perkins (188-83, college: Santa Clara) helped adding 25 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. At the losing side American-Liberian power forward Samuel Hoskin (206-79, college: De Paul, agency: Higher Vision Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Foshan moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Bayi R. Jilin Tigers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Foshan will meet higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jilin Tigers will play against Bayi Rockets (#10) in Ningbo and hope to secure a win.
