Second Stage Round 4: Chanson V-M - Fujitsu RW 79-71

The most important game in the last round took place in Shizuoka between second ranked Fujitsu RW (20-6) and fourth ranked Chanson V-M (19-7) on Sunday night. Fujitsu RW was defeated by Chanson V-M in a tough game on the road 71-79. Fujitsu RW trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 31-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-79 at the end of the game. Chanson V-M made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Swingman Key Miho (176-85) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners. Forward Naoko Chikahira (180-93) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. International forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) produced 9 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chanson V-M moved-up to third place, which they share with Toyota A. Fujitsu RW at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Chanson V-M is looking forward to face Mitsubishi K. (#5) in Nagoya in the next round. Fujitsu RW will play at home against Denso Iris in Kariya and is hoping to win this game.
