The game in Kariya supposed to be also quite interesting. 6th ranked Niigata (11-15) played at the court of seventh ranked Denso Iris (10-16). Denso Iris smashed Niigata 84-52 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Denso Iris. Niigata managed to win second period 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Denso Iris dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata's 24. Denso Iris forced 28 Niigata turnovers and outrebounded them 40-22 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Niigata's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Kumiko Oba (169-88) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 assists and 6 steals and international forward Arisa Fujiwara (175-87) who added 13 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Sangi Kanade (169-86) responded with 16 points and forward Inoue Ai (172-90) scored 3 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Denso Iris maintains seventh position with 10-16 record. Loser Niigata keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. Denso Iris will meet league's second-placed Fujitsu RW in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Niigata will play against Toyota A. (#4) in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
