Regular Season Round 21: Uberlandia - Bauru 94-83

An interesting game for Uberlandia (14-6) which hosted in Uberlandia 4th placed Paschoalotto/Bauru (13-7). Third ranked Uberlandia managed to get a 11-point victory 94-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Paschoalotto/Bauru. It looked good early as Paschoalotto/Bauru took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Uberlandia had a 20-10 second period charge getting the lead and Paschoalotto/Bauru was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 83-94. They outrebounded Paschoalotto/Bauru 33-20 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Uberlandia players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American forward Robert Day (197-82, college: W.Oregon) stepped up and scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and international power forward Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) chipped in 18 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). The best for the losing side was Nigerian-American power forward Jefferson Agba (209-80, college: Embry Riddle) with 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Pilar Alves (200-84) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Uberlandia maintains third place with 14-6 record having eight points less than leader Flamengo. Paschoalotto/Bauru at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Franca. Uberlandia will play against Liga Sorocaba (#9) in Sorocabana in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play on the road against Vivo/Franca (#4) in Sao Paulo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
