Regular Season Round 21: Sozh Gomel - Tsmoki-Minsk II 92-63

An interesting game for Sozh Gomel (13-5) which hosted in Gomel 4th placed Tsmoki-Minsk II (8-10). Second ranked Sozh Gomel had an easy win 92-63. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Sozh Gomel dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Tsmoki-Minsk II's 28 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Sozh Gomel forced 27 Tsmoki-Minsk II turnovers. It was a good game for guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89) who led his team to a victory with 31 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The former international point guard Siarhei Charykau (185-82, college: Yakima Valley CC) contributed with 22 points, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Four Sozh Gomel players scored in double figures. Center Vladimir Krisevich (210-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and forward Aliaksandr Semianiuk (207-93) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tsmoki-Minsk II. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sozh Gomel maintains second place with 13-5 record having five points less than leader Grodno-93. Tsmoki-Minsk II at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Sozh Gomel are looking forward to face Rubon (#3) in Vitebsk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tsmoki-Minsk II will play on the road against Svisloch in Osipovichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
