Regular Season Round 12: TSU Tbilisi - Dinamo Tbilisi 60-68
Date: February 6, 2013
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#6) and TSU (#7). TSU was defeated at home 60-68 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-10. But TSU won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dinamo Tbilisi had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Flynn Clayman (206-88, college: Cumberlands) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and guard Beqa Chikviladze (195-91) supported him with 18 points. Dinamo Tbilisi's coach Irakli Khoshtaria allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 17 rebounds by Serzhi Aselaini did not help to save the game for TSU. Guard George Khaniashvili (194-89) added 13 points and 5 assists. Dinamo Tbilisi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kutaisi. TSU at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi will play against Batumi (#8) at home in the next round. TSU's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena STU.
