Express L. top team - Grindavik (12-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Njardvik (6-9) 96-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Njardvik. The game without a history. Grindavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-28 charity shots (89.3 percent) during the game. Njardvik was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Five Grindavik players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals and point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Grindavik have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-3 record. Njardvik at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Skallagrimur. Grindavik will play against IR (#11) in Reykjavik in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Njardvik will play on the road against Stjarnan (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
