Very predictable result when first ranked Thunderbirds (17-2) rolled over 6th ranked Timberwolves (5-14) in Prince George, BC 93-69 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Thunderbirds. Timberwolves was better in third quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Thunderbirds dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Timberwolves' 20 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Thunderbirds forced 20 Timberwolves turnovers and outrebounded them 45-21 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American forward Brylle Kamen (201, college: San Jose St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Jordan Jensen-Whyte (196-94) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Thunderbirds players scored in double figures. point guard Francis Rowe (178) answered with 15 points and Gagan Sahota added 16 points in the effort for Timberwolves. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Thunderbirds. They maintain first place with 17-2 record. Timberwolves lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 14 games lost. Thunderbirds will have a break next round. Timberwolves will play again at home against the league's leader Thunderbirds (#1) in Vancouver, BC.
