Regular Season Round 31: Winnipeg - Alberta 68-55

There was a surprise result when fifth ranked Wesmen (12-8) defeated leader Golden Bears (14-5) in Winnipeg, MB 68-55 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 46-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for guard Andrew Cunningham (186, college: Redlands CC) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 assists. Guard Nolan Gooding (183) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Wesmen players scored in double figures. Wesmen's coach Mike Raimbault used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Naturalized Kenyan guard Kenneth Otieno (188) answered with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Todd Bergen-Henengouwen (196-91) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Golden Bears. Wesmen maintains fifth place with 12-8 record. Loser Golden Bears still keep top position with five games lost. Wesmen will face again league's leader Golden Bears in Edmonton, AB in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
