Regular Season Round 31: Lakehead - Windsor 70-64

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Lancers (14-4) in Thunder Bay, ON on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Thunderwolves (13-5) 70-64. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Lancers. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-64. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Egyptian forward Yoosrie Salhia (198-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Center Ryan Thomson (201-90) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Lien Phillip (203-89) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Enrico Diloreto (185-90) added 7 points in the effort for Lancers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Thunderwolves have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-5 record having just -1 points less than leader UBC. Lancers at the other side still keep top position with four games lost. They share it with Ottawa. Thunderwolves are again looking forward to face league's leader Lancers in Windsor, ON in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lancers will have a break next round.
