Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Saint-Quentin (10-12) lost at home to eighth ranked Fos Ouest (13-9) 71-64 on Friday. Saint-Quentin was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-13 charge of Fos Ouest, which allowed them to win the game. Quite impressive performance for naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Dia (202-78) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds. Center Tanguy Ramassamy (204-90) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American Darnell Williams (202-78, college: San Jose St., agency: David Lee services) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and American-Ghanian Amu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman, agency: Pro One Sports) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Saint-Quentin. Fos Ouest have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Bourg. Newly promoted Saint-Quentin keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Fos Ouest will face Nantes (#13) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Saint-Quentin will play against SPO Rouen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
