Regular Season Round 13: Sokhumi - MIA Academy 56-59

Ninth-ranked Sokhumi (3-9) made lots of trouble for first ranked MIA (10-2) in Tbilisi on Saturday. The visitors managed to secure only three-point victory 59-56. However their fans expected much easier game. American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import point guard Deonta Vaughn (185-86, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists. Five MIA players scored in double figures. MIA's coach Giorgos Ketselidis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center Sergo Atvashovili (223-85) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and Serbian guard Bosko Stojakovic (196-84) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. MIA have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-2 record, which they share with Rustavi. Sokhumi at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Batumi. MIA's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena TSU.
