Regular Season Round 32: UNBC - UBC 61-93

Date: February 9, 2013
Very expected game in Prince George, BC where 6th ranked Timberwolves (5-15) were crushed by first ranked Thunderbirds (18-2) 93-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Thunderbirds led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Timberwolves' 24. They outrebounded Timberwolves 43-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward David Wagner (206-92) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Geoff Pippus (196) who added 17 points during the contest. Four Thunderbirds players scored in double figures. Guard Charles Barton (193) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Salvadorean guard Jose Araujo (186-86) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunderbirds have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-2 record. Timberwolves lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
