Rather expected game in Kanagawa where 7th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (8-22) were defeated by fourth ranked Toshiba Thunders (18-12) 93-87 on Saturday. Mitsubishi Dolphins trailed by 16 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 30-19 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 87-93 at the end of the game. Toshiba Thunders shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Mitsubishi Dolphins were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Ryusei Shinoyama (178-88) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Bahamas power forward Magnum Rolle (211-86, college: Louisiana Tech) with 23 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Toshiba Thunders. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Panasonic T. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 22 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Tochigi Brex (#6) at home in the next round. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play against the league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo.
