Regular Season Round 15: Al-Qazeres - Ensino 86-70

An interesting game for Al-Qazeres (10-3) which hosted in Caceres 4th placed Maquinaria Ensino (8-5). Third ranked Al-Qazeres had an easy win 86-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maquinaria Ensino. It looked good early as Maquinaria Ensino took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Al-Qazeres took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 16 points. The best player for the winners was Portuguese guard Carla Nascimento (171-86) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American Ndidi Madu (185, college: Florida) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Al-Qazeres' coach Jacinto Carbajal allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center Yaiza Garcia (190-88, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Five Al-Qazeres and four Maquinaria Ensino players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Al-Qazeres. Newly promoted Al-Qazeres maintains third place in Group A with 10-3 record behind leader Cortegada. Maquinaria Ensino at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Al-Qazeres' next round opponent will be ADBA (#9) in Aviles which should be theoretically an easy game. Maquinaria Ensino will play at home against the league's leader Cortegada (#1) in Vilagarcia Arousa.
