Regular Season Round 27: Komarno - Prievidza 95-87

Extraliga top team - Komarno (18-5) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Prievidza (11-12) 95-87. Prievidza was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 34-21 charge of Komarno, which allowed them to win the game. It was a quality performance for American guard Vincent Simpson (185-88, college: Hampton, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Amin Stevens (198-90, college: Florida A&M) accounted for 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Komarno players scored in double figures. American forward Joseph Harris (196-87, college: Co.Carolina) came up with 21 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and international Michal Batka (204-87) added 16 points respectively for Prievidza in the defeat. Prievidza's coach Raul Jimenez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Komarno have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-5 record. Defending champion Prievidza keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Komarno will meet Nova Ves (#4) on the road in the next round. Prievidza will play against Svit and hope to secure a win.
