Regular Season Round 19: ASVEL - Le Havre 70-66

Very expected game when 14th ranked STB Le Havre (7-12) lost on the road to fifth ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (11-8) 70-66 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But STB Le Havre won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 STB Le Havre turnovers. Quite impressive performance for the former international guard Edwin Jackson (191-89) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. Naturalized Mali forward Amara Sy (202-81) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists and the other American import center Graham Brown (205-84, college: Michigan) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for STB Le Havre. Four STB Le Havre players scored in double figures. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket maintains fifth place with 11-8 record, which they share with Paris-Levallois. Loser STB Le Havre dropped to the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will face Poitiers (#15) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. STB Le Havre will play against Sluc Nancy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
