Regular Season Round 16: GAC Eunikos - Terpsithea 42-51

Bottom-ranked GAC Eunikos (0-16) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 51-42 loss to ninth ranked Terpsithea (6-10) in Liosa on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 19-6 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Terpsithea dominated on the defensive end, holding GAC Eunikos to just 6 points in third quarter. Forward Dyiota Dragonea (184-84) fired 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Maria Panagiotopoulou (187-83) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Terpsithea's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Nikolina Ioannidou (174-94) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and guard Stefania Sideri (178-94, agency: Veracity Sports, LLC) added 9 points respectively for lost side. Terpsithea moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Asteras. GAC Eunikos at the other side still closes the standings. Terpsithea will face higher ranked Kronos AD (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. GAC Eunikos will play against the league's second-placed AO Ellinikou (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
