Regular Season Round 19: Perpignan - Aix-en-Provence 72-70

Twelfth-ranked Aix-en-Provence (7-12) made lots of trouble for third ranked Perpignan (13-5) on Saturday. Perpignan managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected much easier game. Aix-en-Provence was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 24-19 charge of Perpignan, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Aix-en-Provence turnovers. Croatian point guard Iva Ciglar (168-85, agency: Data Plus Group) fired 20 points and 6 assists for the winners. Australian center Abby Bishop (189-88) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Perpignan's coach Francois Gomez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Canadian forward Lizanne Murphy (185-84, college: Hofstra) produced 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Australian center Marianna Tolo (196-89) added 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four Aix-en-Provence players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Perpignan maintains third place with 13-5 record having four points less than leader Lattes Montp. Loser Aix-en-Provence dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Perpignan will face league's second-placed Bourges at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
