Very important is a road loss of second ranked AO Ellinikou (14-2) against fourth ranked PAOK (11-5) on Sunday night. Visiting AO Ellinikou was defeated by PAOK in a tough game in Thessaloniki 50-55. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of AO Ellinikou. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 15-11. But AO Ellinikou won second period 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PAOK forced 20 AO Ellinikou turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Caila Desroches (193, college: Chicago St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and swingman Stavroula Spanidou (180-84) who added 5 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Anthoula Balta (178-87) responded with 7 points and 6 assists and American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. PAOK maintains fourth position with 11-5 record. Newly promoted AO Ellinikou keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Athinaikos. PAOK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Thessaloniki to the arena Aris.
