We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Oita Heat Devils (11-21) lost on the road to ninth ranked Osaka Evessa (9-21) 92-80 on Sunday. Oita Heat Devils were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota, agency: SportsTalent) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Osaka Evessa's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Nigerian-American forward P.J. Alawoya (203-88, college: McNeese St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) added 18 points and 5 assists in the effort for Oita Heat Devils. Five Osaka Evessa and four Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa maintains ninth position with 9-21 record. Loser Oita Heat Devils keep the eighth place with 21 games lost. Osaka Evessa will face higher ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (#3) in Mikawa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
