Rather predictable result when third ranked Chanson V-M (20-7) won against 5th ranked Mitsubishi K. (18-9) in Shizuoka 65-55 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 45-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The former international power forward Yuka Watanabe (181-81) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) contributed with 19 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Chanson V-M's coach Isao Kimura used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Yasuko Hashimoto (163-82) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Mitsubishi K.Chanson V-M maintains third place with 20-7 record having seven points less than leader Toyota B SR, which they share with Toyota A. Mitsubishi K. at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Chanson V-M is looking forward to face Denso Iris (#7) in Kariya in the next round. Mitsubishi K. will play at home against the league's second-placed Fujitsu RW in Kawasaki and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
