Second Stage Round 5: JX Sunflowers - Aishin AW 92-47

WJBL top team - JX Sunflowers (27-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Aishin Wings (8-19) in Kashiwa 92-47. The game without a history. JX Sunflowers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Aishin Wings' 28. They outrebounded Aishin Wings 43-21 including a 34-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. JX Sunflowers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Aishin Wings' players. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Aya Okamoto (161-91) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) answered with 13 points and guard Hitomi Takasaki (168-86) added 6 points in the effort for Aishin Wings. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JX Sunflowers have an impressive series of twenty seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 27-0 record. Aishin Wings lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 19 games lost. JX Sunflowers are looking forward to face Niigata (#6) in Tokyo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Aishin Wings will play at home against Toyota A. in Nagoya and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
