Everything could happen in Lodz at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Widzew and 9th ranked AZS Rzeszow had identical 2-14 record. This time Widzew used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Rzeszow 78-53 on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Widzew led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to AZS Rzeszow's 24. Widzew forced 21 AZS Rzeszow turnovers. The best player for the winners was Czech center Leona Jankowska (190-77) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Aleksandra Pawlak (189-84) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Widzew players scored in double figures. Coach Elzbieta Trzesniewska's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Widzew (3-14) moved-up to eighth place. AZS Rzeszow lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. Widzew will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. AZS Rzeszow will play against PTK Pabianice (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
