Regular Season Round 32: Brock - Waterloo 77-56

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Waterloo (0-20) was smashed by second ranked Brock (18-2) in Catharines 77-56 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Brock. Waterloo was better in third quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Waterloo to just 4 points in first quarter. Brock dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Waterloo's 32. Brock forced 33 Waterloo turnovers. Forward Nicole Rosenkranz (185) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Andrea Polischuk (180) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Forward Gia Spiropoulos (188) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Swedish guard Erika Persson (178-88) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Waterloo. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brock have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-2 record having just -4 point less than leader Calgary. Loser Waterloo still closes the standings with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
