Leader Aishin Sea Horses delivered the twentieth sixth victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (17-15) 64-54 in Tokyo. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Jamaican center Kevin Young (206-84, college: Missouri) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds and American center Darren Fenn (208-80, college: Canisius, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aishin Sea Horses (26-6) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the fifth place with 15 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will play against Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play at home against Mitsubishi Dolphins in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
