Regular Season Round 17: AO Ellinikou - GAC Eunikos 89-59

Bottom-ranked GAC Eunikos is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 17th consecutive match to second ranked AO Ellinikou (15-2) 89-59 on Saturday evening. AO Ellinikou dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to GAC Eunikos' 34. AO Ellinikou forced 33 GAC Eunikos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by GAC Eunikos' players. American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Vivi Bakali accounted for 9 points and 8 assists. Four AO Ellinikou players scored in double figures. Nikolina Ioannidou (174-94) came up with 19 points and 9 rebounds and forward Stella Tsiopoulou (182-81) added 16 points respectively for GAC Eunikos in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted AO Ellinikou maintains second place with 15-2 record behind leader Panathinaikos. GAC Eunikos lost their seventeenth game in a row. They still closes the standings. AO Ellinikou will meet Kronos AD (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. GAC Eunikos will play against Aris (#5) in Thessaloniki and hopes to get finally their first victory.
