Undefeated Flamengo (22-1) recorded its first loss in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Vivo/Franca (15-8) 91-86. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 29-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Vivo/Franca dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Flamengo's 38. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Vivo/Franca made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Jhonatan Luz dos Santos (196-87) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. The former international power forward Guilherme Teichmann (204-83, college: Tulsa) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Vivo/Franca's coach Aluisio Xavier Ferreira used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game.
