The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Varsity Reds' (6-12) home victory over 8th ranked Sea Hawks (1-17) in Fredericton, NB 80-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Varsity Reds. Sea Hawks was better in third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Varsity Reds dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Sea Hawks' 26 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Varsity Reds forced 23 Sea Hawks turnovers. Forward Jordan Irvine (193) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points. Matthew Daley (175) contributed with 8 points and 5 assists for the winners. Noel Moffatt answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Caleb Gould added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sea Hawks. Four Sea Hawks players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Varsity Reds moved-up to sixth place, which they share with St.Mary's. Loser Sea Hawks keep the eighth position with 17 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
