We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when third ranked Marauders (13-8) beat second-ranked Thunderwolves (14-7) in Hamilton, ON 92-82 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Marauders. Thunderwolves was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game, while Thunderwolves only scored six points from the stripe. Marauders forced 21 Thunderwolves turnovers. Thunderwolves were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Aaron Redpath (193) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Guard Adam Presutti (188) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Joey Nitychoruk answered with 18 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Greg Carter (178-90) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Thunderwolves. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marauders maintains third place with 13-8 record having just three points less than leader UBC. Loser Thunderwolves keep the second position with seven games lost.
