Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Golden Hawks (8-13) defeated 8th ranked Mustangs (3-18) in Waterloo, ON 102-84 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Golden Hawks. Mustangs was better in second period 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Golden Hawks shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Mustangs' players. Guard Maxwell Allin (193) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Jamar Forde (190) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Jermaine Bernard (183) answered with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Quinn Henderson (193) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Mustangs. Four Golden Hawks and five Mustangs players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Golden Hawks have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Brock. Loser Mustangs keep the eighth position with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
