Regular Season Round 14: TSU Tbilisi - MIA Academy 76-102

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: MIA (#3) and TSU (#7). TSU was smashed at home by 26 points 76-102 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game without a history. MIA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 66.7 percent from the field. MIA outrebounded TSU 44-22 including a 34-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by TSU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Deonta Vaughn (185-86, college: Cincinnati) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five MIA players scored in double figures. Guard George Khaniashvili (194-89) replied with 24 points and point guard Givi Bakradze (185-91, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 10 points and 7 assists in the effort for TSU. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MIA have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Rustavi. TSU at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. MIA is looking forward to face league's second-placed Energy Invest in Rustavi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TSU's supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Olimpi.
