Regular Season Round 16: Hitachi SR - Aishin SH 65-54

Top ranked Aishin Sea Horses (26-6) recorded its sixth loss in Tokyo on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (17-15) 65-54. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Aishin Sea Horses. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-54. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) fired 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Jamar Smith (206-80, college: Maryland) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. The former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and guard Ryoma Hashimoto (178-88) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Aishin Sea Horses' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains fifth position with 17-15 record. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side still keep top place with six games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers are looking forward to face Mitsubishi Dolphins (#7) in Nagoya in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play at home against Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa and are hoping to win this game.
