Regular Season Round 21: Muggia - Cremona 75-49
Date: February 16, 2013
Rather expected game when 13th ranked Cremona (4-17) was crushed on the road by tenth ranked Muggia (8-13) 75-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. Muggia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Muggia outrebounded Cremona 50-21 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (182-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and guard Annalisa Borroni (183-83) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Muggia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Marta Scarsi (182-95) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and forward Benedetta Racchetti (174-92) scored 10 points and 4 steals. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Muggia moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with San Salvatore. Cremona lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Muggia will face higher ranked Alghero (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cremona will play against Milano (#3).
