Regular Season Round 16: Ourense P. - Oviedo 45-51

The most interesting game of round 16 was a home defeat of 8th ranked Pabellon Ourense (6-9) to seventh ranked Oviedo (7-8) 51-45 in the game for the sixth place. Pabellon Ourense was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Oviedo had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Carolina Hernando (-85) who helped to win the game recording 4 points and 12 rebounds and Miriam Diaz Requejo (-87) who added 7 points during the contest. Oviedo's coach Ruben Alonso used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and forward Maria Alvarez (180-81) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Oviedo moved-up to sixth place in Group A. Pabellon Ourense at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Real C.Vigo. Oviedo are looking forward to face league's second-placed Universitario de Ferrol at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pabellon Ourense will play against Arxil Pontevedra (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
