Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Joinville (8-14) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (13-11) 93-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sao Jose/Vinac. Joinville was better in fourth quarter 29-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sao Jose/Vinac looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Joinville's players. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Murilo Becker (210-83) who scored 28 points and 8 rebounds. International swingman Dede Stefanelli (196-84) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists. They keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Sao Jose/Vinac will face Palmeiras (#16) in Sao Paulo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Joinville will play on the road against Vivo/Franca in Sao Paulo.
