Regular Season Round 24: Baerum Basket - Tromso 88-95

An exciting game was played in Bekkestua. First ranked Tromso faced 3rd ranked Baerum Basket. Guests from Tromso (18-4) defeated host Baerum Basket (12-10) 95-88. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Baerum Basket. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 31-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Tromso made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Tromso outrebounded Baerum Basket 39-25 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Tromso especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Jonathan Jones (196-88, college: Kean) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds. The other American import guard Gary Wallace (187-88, college: Robert Morris, agency: TSS Management) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Four Tromso players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Uruguayan-German point guard Phillip Holm (175-80) who recorded 26 points and 7 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and point guard Stian Mjos (182-89) added 28 points and 5 assists respectively. Tromso have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-4 record. Baerum Basket at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. Tromso are looking forward to face Froya Basket (#4) in Laksevag in the next round. Baerum Basket will play at home against the league's second-placed Centrum in Oslo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
