Another exciting game was between eighth ranked Maccabi Rishon and 6th ranked Maccabi Ashdod where Maccabi Rishon (8-9) crushed Maccabi Ashdod (7-10) on the road with 20-point difference 100-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maccabi Ashdod. It looked good early as Maccabi Ashdod took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Maccabi Rishon had a 30-27 second period charge getting the lead and Maccabi Ashdod was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-100. Maccabi Rishon shot 61.8 percent from the field. They outrebounded Maccabi Ashdod 41-27 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Maccabi Rishon players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Maccabi Ashdod's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. American forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Jamie Skeen (205-88, college: VCU) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) added 20 points in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi Rishon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bnei Hasharon. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Hapoel T-A. Maccabi Rishon will play against Bnei Hasharon (#7) in Hod Hasharon in the next round. Maccabi Ashdod will play on the road against Maccabi Haifa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
