Regular Season Round 25: Ferrara - Casalpusterlengo 71-79

Date: February 17, 2013
Rather expected game when 14th ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (9-13) lost at home to eleventh ranked Casalpusterlengo (11-10) 79-71 on Sunday. Naturhouse Ferrara trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 30-19 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 71-79 at the end of the game. Casalpusterlengo dominated on the defensive end, holding Naturhouse Ferrara to just 6 points in first quarter. It was a very good performance for guard Tommaso Marino (190-86, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. point guard Roberto Prandin (188-86, agency: Two Points) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Andrea Campiello (200-87) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Naturhouse Ferrara. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Naturhouse Ferrara's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Casalpusterlengo. They moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted Naturhouse Ferrara keeps the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Casalpusterlengo will face Latina Basket (#15) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Naturhouse Ferrara will play against Lucca.
