Regular Season Round 17: Kolossos - Panionios 65-70

Very predictable result when third ranked Panionios (14-3) won against 9th ranked Kolossos (6-11) in Rodou 70-65 on Sunday. Kolossos was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-13 charge of Panionios, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Panionios made 8 blocks. American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland, agency: Three Eye Sports) nailed 18 points for the winning side and naturalized Serbian forward Vladimir Jankovic (202-90, agency: FCM) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Marcus Hatten (186-80, college: St.John's) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import power forward Kevin Langford (204-85, college: TCU) added 13 points respectively for Kolossos in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Panionios have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Panathinaikos. Kolossos at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Ikaros. Panionios will meet at home Aris (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kolossos will play against Apollon Patras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
