There was a minor upset when 7th ranked C.U.S. Chieti (4-11) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Pall.Pozzuoli (4-10) 65-59 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Pall.Pozzuoli forced 23 C.U.S. Chieti turnovers. Strangely C.U.S. Chieti outrebounded Pall.Pozzuoli 41-25 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Kalana Greene (178-87, college: Connecticut, agency: LBM Management) who scored 21 points and 6 steals. Ukrainian forward Olga Maznichenko (187-91, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Pall.Pozzuoli players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Puerto Rican Jazmine Sepulveda (178-85, college: S.Florida, agency: Merit Sports) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian center Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89) added 5 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Pall.Pozzuoli moved-up to seventh place. C.U.S. Chieti lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Pall.Pozzuoli will meet at home higher ranked Parma (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. C.U.S. Chieti will play against Taranto (#4) and hope to secure a win.
