Regular Season Round 18: Maccabi K/G - Macc.B.Yaakov 79-92
Date: February 19, 2013
Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Beer Yaakov (6-12) won against bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G (3-15) in Kiryat Gat 92-79. The game was mostly controlled by Beer Yaakov. Maccabi K/G was better in fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Beer Yaakov especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Joshua Alexander (193-87, college: SF Austin) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Inan Iram (194-88, agency: Avi Zilberman) chipped in 24 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Beer Yaakov players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Muhammad El Amin (196-87, college: Stony Brook, agency: Two Points) added 24 points and 4 assists respectively. Maccabi K/G's coach Roni Tzukerman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Beer Yaakov moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hapoel K/S. Maccabi K/G lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Beer Yaakov's next round opponent will be higher ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (#7) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi K/G will play against Hapoel Afula (#5).
