Very important is a road loss of second ranked Uppsala Basket (21-8) against fourth ranked Sodertalje Kings (20-7) on Tuesday night. Visiting Uppsala Basket was defeated by Sodertalje Kings in a tough game in Sodertalje 69-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Uppsala Basket. Uppsala Basket was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 45-39 second half run of Sodertalje Kings. American center Kenneth Simms (203-86, college: Cumberland) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international Dino Pita (192-88) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American point guard Thomas Jackson (175-80, college: Butler) answered with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Keith Wright (203-89, college: Harvard) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Uppsala Basket. Four Uppsala Basket players scored in double figures. Sodertalje Kings have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Uppsala Basket at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Sodertalje Kings will play against LF Basket (#8) in Lulea in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Uppsala Basket will play at home against White Eagles (#11) in Stockholm and hopes to get back on the winning track.
