Regular Season Round 17: Snaefell - Fjolnir 108-77

Very expected game in Stykkisholmur where 11th ranked Fjolnir (4-13) was rolled over by second ranked Snaefell (13-4) 108-77. The game was mostly controlled by Snaefell. Fjolnir was better in third quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Snaefell players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Fjolnir's players. American-Italian forward Ryan Amoroso (203-85, college: San Diego St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds. American guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St., agency: Pro One Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. Five Snaefell players scored in double figures. American Christopher Smith (204-82, college: St.Edward's, agency: R.H.Consultancy) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (191-93) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Fjolnir. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Snaefell. They maintain second place with 13-4 record behind leader Grindavik. Fjolnir lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with IR. Snaefell will play against Tindastoll (#10) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fjolnir will play at home against Thor Thorl in Thorlakshofn and hopes to get back on the winning track.
