Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Tijuca TC (4-20) lost to tenth ranked SKY/Basquete (11-11) in Aldeota 86-92 on Thursday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Tijuca TC was trailing by 11 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 31-23 charge of SKY/Basquete, which allowed them to win the game. SKY/Basquete outrebounded Tijuca TC 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for SKY/Basquete especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when SKY/Basquete made 7 blocks. Quite impressive performance for the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international power forward William Drudi (206-81) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. SKY/Basquete's coach Alberto Bial used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Rashad Bishop (198-88, college: Cincinnati) answered with 22 points (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import swingman Rashaun McLemore (195-86, college: CS Northridge) added 16 points in the effort for Tijuca TC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SKY/Basquete maintains tenth place with 11-11 record. Tijuca TC lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 20 games lost. SKY/Basquete will face league's leader Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tijuca TC will play on the road against the league's second-placed Brasilia (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
